Boos was first mentioned in 1238. Today, the village with 610 inhabitants enjoys an excellent reputation as a popular hiking destination. Special highlights are the nature reserve "Booser Doppelmaar", which as a "Vulkanparkstation" is home to a unique flora and fauna and the "Booser Eifelturm" (currently locked), which offers fantastic views since 2003.

Ettringen's townscape is characterized by volcanic rock, which was mined here especially during the industrialization period in the last century. The landmark of the village with more than 2,720 inhabitants is the Hochsimmerturm. But also the volcanic park stations "Ettringer Lay" and "Ettringer Bellerberg" are known beyond the region and offer fascinating insights into the history of the region.

The Falkleymühle campsite is idyllically nestled in the beautiful landscape of the Vordereifel in the valley of the nice river below the village of Langscheid.

The village of Kirchwald, with a population of 960, lies on a ridge between the Nette and Nitz valleys. From the Nette Valley, a winding road branches off just behind Bürresheim Castle and climbs to an elevation of about 500 meters. The “Nitzblick” lookout point is a must-see and a special highlight along the “Panorama Hiking Trail.”  

The municipality of Reudelsterz, located on a plateau, is home to around 380 residents and offers fantastic views over the "Karbachtal" and "Elztal".
