The approximately 110-kilometer-long scenic and tourist route, which winds through historic slate mining areas and features typical slate architecture, connects the Moselle wine region with the volcanic and mountainous landscape of the eastern Eifel.

    Klosterruine Mädburg Kehrig

    The monastery ruins "Mädburg" at KehrigNot far from the confluence of the monastery creek that rises in Kehrig, the Elz flows around a small plateau about 20 m above the valley floor, bounded on the northwest by a rocky steep slope.
