Iconic race track in the Eifel

The Nürburgring, which opened on June 18, 1927, is considered one of the most beautiful race tracks in the world. The track winds through the unique landscape of the Eifel region and with its supporting program featuring an interactive museum, tourist drives and more, offers motorsports fans from all over the world a destination renowned far beyond the country’s borders.

    The Elz Valley Cycle Trail runs for around 31 kilometers from Gunderath via Uersfeld, Lirstal and Oberelz through the idyllic Elz Valley to Monreal and from there on to the Ostbahnhof in the Eifel town of Mayen.

    Vulkanschleife Basalt

    Die 23 km lange Strecke führt durch typische Vulkanlandschaft, die insbesondere durch den historischen Abbau von Basaltlava, Tuffsteinen und Schaumlava geprägt wurde. Die Vulkanschleife ist eingebettet in die Vulkanlandschaft der Eifel und durch den frühen Basaltlavaabbau geprägt. So sieht man bei der Durchfahrt durch die Gemeinde viele Häuser, Skulpturen und Werkstücke, die aus dem heimischen Naturstein entstanden sind.
