    The Elz Valley Cycle Trail runs for around 31 kilometers from Gunderath via Uersfeld, Lirstal and Oberelz through the idyllic Elz Valley to Monreal and from there on to the Ostbahnhof in the Eifel town of Mayen.

    Vulkanschleife Basalt

    Die 23 km lange Strecke führt durch typische Vulkanlandschaft, die insbesondere durch den historischen Abbau von Basaltlava, Tuffsteinen und Schaumlava geprägt wurde. Die Vulkanschleife ist eingebettet in die Vulkanlandschaft der Eifel und durch den frühen Basaltlavaabbau geprägt. So sieht man bei der Durchfahrt durch die Gemeinde viele Häuser, Skulpturen und Werkstücke, die aus dem heimischen Naturstein entstanden sind.

Radarena at the Nürburgring

All around the legendary Nürburgring, in the municipalities of Adenau and Vordereifel and in the area surrounding the city of Mayen, the Hocheifel region offers many beautiful, challenging and scenic routes for cyclists.
Road cyclists will find plenty to enjoy on a network of trails spanning over 1,500 km,
while mountain bikers can explore three specialized routes in the “MTB Arena.” All tours are mapped and also available as roadbooks and GPS tracks. The GPS tracks are available for download.
In addition, there are lodging options and dining choices to suit every need.
