Design your dream garden!
Do you want to transform your garden into a vibrant, nature-inspired retreat for the whole family? Then join our workshop and competition!
The nature garden planner and biologist Ulrike Aufderheide will create a custom design plan for a selected garden – whether it's a new installation or a redesign. Together, we will then implement this plan practically.

Your chance: Apply with your garden in Kehrig and win a professional plan for a nature-friendly family garden. We will also assist you in selecting and procuring materials such as perennials, stones, and soil.

Schedule of the workshop:
May 15, 2026 – Submit your application to us by email or by post by 15.05.2026.

June 6, 2026 – The workshop will take place at the Kulturwerkstatt – Mayenerstr. 16 in Kehrig from 10 AM to 4 PM. Here, the plan for the winning garden will be discussed. Additionally, all participants will plan their very own family garden with tips from Ms. Ulrike Aufderheide. You will receive practical advice on how to make your garden insect-friendly and colorful – a paradise for the whole family.

August 22, 2026 – Together we will implement the plan in the winning garden! On about 30 square meters, we will create a bed with native, insect-friendly perennials – perfect for playing children, relaxed parents, and diverse insects. During this process, we will receive valuable tips from Ms. Aufderheide that everyone can implement in their own garden.

Announcement of the winning garden:
After reviewing the applications, we look forward to announcing the winning garden and personally contacting the winner. For further planning, we then request a land registry extract and the ground floor plan; if available, pipeline and elevation plans are also very helpful.

After completion:
We ask for permission to visit your garden after prior arrangement during events, seek assurance for the long-term preservation of the garden element, and hope that the garden continues to promote biodiversity and is maintained as a valuable habitat after the project ends.
