Experience nature, hike together, discover new things, and simply spend a beautiful day with the family – all this awaits young and old at the Family Hiking Day of the Verbandsgemeinde Vordereifel on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in Boos. Between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, it’s time to pack your backpack, lace up your hiking shoes, and off you go – to a day full of experiences in the fascinating volcanic landscape of Vordereifel.
The start and finish is at the sports field in Boos, from where three different routes are available – for little explorers as well as for sporty hiking enthusiasts:

• Family hike (5.7 km):
• On the Traumpfädchen “Eifelturmpfad Boos”, families will find a child-friendly route with four interactive activity stations. Here, children can playfully discover nature, research, and craft. The route is freely accessible between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with no fixed start time. Anyone who visits all stations and completes their stamp card can participate in the raffle at the end – with great prizes included.
• Scenic route for connoisseurs (10.7 km):
• The guided tour over the Traumpfad “Booser Doppelmaartour” starts at 10:45 AM. Especially nice: Mayor Alfred Schomisch personally accompanies the hiking group and looks forward to interesting conversations along the way. A cozy route with wide views, exciting information about the landscape – and plenty of time to enjoy.
• Sporty route (14.5 km):
• The Stumpfarmweg offers a more challenging circular hike for experienced hikers with its 14.5 kilometers. The guided tour starts at 11:00 AM – with sturdy footwear and good cheer, the hike goes through varied nature and past volcanic traces.

All routes can also be hiked individually without a guide – completely flexible, at your own pace, and depending on your mood.
More than hiking – a festival for the whole family
On the grounds around the Booser Sports Field, a colorful supporting program awaits everyone of all ages. The Volunteer Fire Department Boos, Pro Boos, and the Sports Club Boos ensure a cheerful atmosphere with delicious food, cool drinks, and a joyful children's program featuring a bouncy castle, face painting, and many other attractions. The Music Association Boos accompanies the opening musically and creates an inviting atmosphere for all guests.
