Experience the magic of Christmas in the Eifel!
From November 23, 2025 to January 8, 2026, the beautiful half-timbered village of Monreal will be transformed into a real winter fairy tale. Around 170 lovingly designed nativity scenes await you on the 7th Monreal Nativity Scene Trail, which you can discover along the romantic alleyways, in windows, courtyards and front gardens.
The Monreal Nativity Scene Trail has long been an insider tip for Advent in Rhineland-Palatinate. Astrid Dott and Ingo Becker put their heart and soul into organizing the nativity scene trail together with the people of Monreal. Many of the nativity scenes come from their own collection or were lovingly handcrafted throughout the year - each one a small work of art.
A special highlight is the small nativity scene exhibition in a former laundry room behind Untertorstraße - this year for the first time with children's nativity scenes. You can find it through the narrow passageway between the houses at Untertorstraße 8 and 10.
The entire crib trail is freely accessible and invites you to experience Monreal in a festive atmosphere. Let yourself be enchanted by the twinkling lights, enjoy the regional cuisine in the restaurants and treat yourself to a little break in one of the cozy accommodation establishments in Monreal - the perfect short break at Christmas time in the Eifel.

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 4 pm, it's once again "Mulled wine meets nativity scene trail" at the "Alte Mühle" in Mühlenstraße - with free mulled wine, children's punch and cookies. Free mulled wine and cookies will also be waiting for you in the historic town center between the years.
