Klettern "Ettringer Lay" und "Kottenheimer Winfeld"
Ettringen
Climbing in the former quarry
Defy the laws of gravity. Smooth rock slabs, overhangs, and chimneys turn into a fascinating experience and guarantee an adventure you’ll remember for a long time to come.
Climbing is like dancing on vertical surfaces and is one of the most beautiful ways to fully feel your body and precisely control its movements.
Basalt lava was still being mined here just a few decades ago. However, the former quarry areas were discovered by recreational climbers several years ago and are now attracting more and more enthusiasts of this sport.
Alexander Schmalz-Friedberger’s website, www.klettern-ettringen.de, features the climbing areas and routes, as well as other information about climbing in the two main climbing areas in the Vordereifel mentioned above.
In addition, the German Alpine Club, Koblenz Section, offers the opportunity to learn to climb and enjoy the experience together in a guided group setting in Ettringen and Kottenheim.
